Memory Game
Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!
Gone Camping!
This past weekend we went camping with Tims family. It was the first time that we had been camping with kids. I was a little nervous, especially because Maddux is such a crappy sleeper but it ended up being a pretty good adventure. We went up to East Canyon Friday night, set up the tents and had dinner. When Tim and I were first married we bought a tent that turned out to be pretty nice for us. We had room for our air mattress, Jacie's sleeping bag and our pack and play crib. Jacie woke up once in the middle of the night saying she needed a drink but we just told her to go back to sleep. Maddux slept until about 4am. He moves all over in his sleep so he doesn't keep a blanket on him and I think he just got cold (because it was cold!). As soon as I picked him up he was right back asleep.
Saturday morning we got up and headed to the lake. We rented some paddle boats and a canoe. Jacie wouldn't get in a paddle boat until we made her because "it was bumpy" but once she got on one she didn't want to get off. Tim and I took Jacie and Seth on a canoe ride but quickly took them back to shore after dropping the paddles twice and almost making us tip! The kids loved playing in the sand and water. When we finally left Jacie was passed out before we even made it 5 minutes in the car. Maddux on the other had never fell a sleep, instead he just kept squawking, too tired to fall a sleep!

Dinner Conversation
People that don't eat dinner together at a table with the TV off are totally missing out on great family conversations! Tonight as we are eating dinner Jacie started rambling off about what was going to happen if she didn't eat any of her food. I was just agreeing with her because she is in that 50 million question phase and it is just a way to get her to stop, or at least move on to the next question. Anyway she said something about that she was going to eat my food and I told her no then she said "you have to share or I will change your attitude." Tim and I busted out laughing. It is funny the things that they pick up on and then how they use it back at you!
Another funny thing that Jacie did today was she said her flip flops were Hanna Montana shoes. She then said that her shirt was a Hanna Montana shirt and said that she wanted to sleep in it and asked if she could. The thing that is so funny is she has NO clue who Hanna Montana is! She has just seen a commercial for Wal Mart were a girl loves her Hanna Montana shirt so much that she sleeps in it. What a funny girl!

4th of July
Now that it is almost the 24th of July it is about time that I write about what we did for the 4th. Jacie and I went to the West Jordan Rodeo with Tims parents, my sister-in-law Brittany and her two kids on the 3rd. It started out great. They had all these blow up slides and jumping things that the kids played on. They even rode ponies. They had a blast. Then we went over to the rodeo grounds. Tim refused to go because he hates rodeos. I somewhat enjoy them and knew that Jacie would like them so I left Maddux home with Tim and went for a girls night out. Unfortunately I am starting to side with Tim for reasons why "these things are horrible" (in his words!). They pack you in like sardines so you can't even enjoy the festivities because you are so uncomfortable. There is no room to sit plus I am getting kicked by the kid in back of me but I can't really complain because Jacie is kicking the people in front of us. It just makes for a LONG night!
On the 4th we went to Tims parents for lunch and let the kids play around in the little pool then we went to our neighbors for a BBQ - Cafe Rio style! It was some good food, good company and overall a great night. I do have to say that fireworks just aren't what they use to be. I remember growing up we would go across the street to the church and sit on the hill to watch fireworks. Our next door neighbors had a firework stand so we had a great show. I definitely miss the fireworks in the sky. The little ones that you can do now that just squeal at you aren't that exciting. I guess we will have to start going to actual firework shows if I want that "ooh... aah" feeling.
