One Year Older

August is a big birthday month for us. My parents, Jacie, and TIM! Tim's birthday often gets overshadowed by Jacie's birthday so I always feel bad. He never seems to mind, probably because he shares his birthday with his twin and his sister. Tim, we want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and tell you how much we love you and what a GREAT dad and husband you are. We are so lucky to have you! We LOVE you!!

More Birthday

After Jacie's friend party, we had a little family party with my parents and my brothers family. Nothing too exciting just pizza and cake and ice cream. Isn't the flower cake cute. I thought that a flower kind of went along with a fairy theme. The cool thing about this cake is that my DAD decorated it! My mother-in-law had given me a cake decorating kit for my birthday a few years ago. I have tried to use it before but did NOT succeed. That morning I had to go to the eye Dr for some issues I had been having with my contacts, when I came home my dad was decorating away! I guess I know what to get him for Christmas!

Jacie turns 4

My little girl is growing up! Jacie turned 4 last week (I am always about a week or more behind on posting!). I decided that I would attempt to have a friend party. We had a fairy theme. I had to talk Jacie into this because she originally wanted to have a princess party but I wanted a fairy party. It went pretty well. We decorated fairy wings, painted their faces and then played games were they won a fairy skirt and wand. They were still a little young to completely understand the games but I think they had a good time. When they had finished becoming fairies they all looked so stinking cute. Jacie is still talking about it to everyone she sees!

Jacies Married Guy

Posted by Picasa
This is Jacie's "married guy." He is our neighbor and Jacie believes that she is going to marry him. She has felt this way for as long as I can remember. If you ask her more details, they will be getting married in the Temple and then live in their own house. Sometimes we try and tease her and get her to say she will marry someone else but then she totally freaks out and starts yelling she is going to marry Devin. It is hilarious. When we make plans to hang out with him I will ask her "guess who's coming over?" Jacie will get totally excited and say, "my married guy!"

Olympics

I love the Olympics, it has been so much fun to watch. This week is definitely my favorite week. Gymnastics and swimming are my favorite, I also enjoy beach volleyball. Misty May and Walsh are amazing. During the last Olympics, when they won gold, was when I was delivering Jacie. We almost made Jacie's middle name May, after Misty May! The only problem that I have is they are so blasted late! We DVR the games so we can watch them without commercials and without children. It is nice but I have been up past Midnight every night this week, last night we didn't finish until 2 am! Maddux has been getting up at 7 am and Jacie for some reason has been climbing into our bed about 5 am for the last few nights. Most people know how much I love and need my sleep. I have been slightly more on edge and my house is a wreck because I have no energy to clean it! Hopefully Tim and the kids will forgive me. Only about another week and then they won't have to deal with it for another 4 years! GO USA!!!!

Summer Fun

I know I haven't posted for awhile but this is what we have been up to.
Maddux had his first hair cut. His hair is so thin but it was getting too long for me to do anything but a comb over so it was time!

I also cut Jacie's hair (I didn't actually do it, I had it done). It was getting so long but the longer it got the more tears we had when we washed it and combed it. I was hoping when some of the weight got cut off she would have more curl. I was wrong. Her curl is GONE :( The ends are a little curly and the front, but her cute little perfect ringlets are gone. I was so sad. For the most part I think I am over it. Her hair still looks cute and the number of tears has significantly decreased which has made it worth it. I do miss the 7 inches we cut off, especially on Sunday when now I have to actually do her hair!!

Jacie took swimming lessons. She did so good and loved it. Out of the 6 kids in her class only Jacie and one other boy did really well with the whole floating on your back and blowing bubbles. Two others liked playing in the water but didn't do too hot with the actual swimming. The other two didn't really like the water or the swimming.

Other than that we have played a lot outside, at splash pads, in the pool, and with friends. I love summer but to be honest, I will be glad when fall comes and there is more structure to our week. Jacie will have preschool 2 days a week this year and dance. I am looking forward to days when Jacie doesn't want to sit in front of the TV all day because there is nothing else planned.
