Worst call in Major League Baseball history

I've (Tim) been watching baseball for over 20 years of my life and never remember seeing a call as bad as the one that was made today against the Atlanta Braves shortstop Yunel Escobar. I paused my TV, took out the camera and got this picture. Are you sitting down? The runner in this picture was called OUT by the umpire you see!!! Yes, that is the baseball to the left of the screen. It was a bunt play and the pitcher fielded it and threw it to first. I'm still speechless. Sorry to polute Kara's blog but this injustice had to be made known.

Holy Cow! (using Harry Carry's voice) That's unbelievable! I've got a c-note that says the ump is sitting in the clubhouse watching the replay still insisting that he got it right! Bruce Froemming, Angel Hernandez, and C.B. Bucknor should all be designated for assignment.

Ok. Not to monopolize the comment section but I just realized this was against the Marlins. If that doesn't bring back memories of Livan Hernandez's pitchout that Eric Greg called a strike in the 97NLCS against Fred McGriff then I don't know what does. Ok I'm done dorking up the board, back to family stuff; my apologies.

They are playing the Washington Nationals. Thankfully, the Braves still won the game.

I mean it was a bad call obviously, I just like to laugh at how seriously pissed they get about it:)

I don't watch sports, but recognize that the injustice was totally blog worthy. Thanks for sharing. I would be ticked to if I cared. He!He!
